Tough but great day for MerschFlyers

Written by MerschFlyers at 19:14 25/10-2022

"I felt like the peloton was sitting on my wheel for three stages" said Kaden of MerschFlyers, the wind breaker for the stage race.

"I've never felt so alone in a pack" pitched in Lean, head leadout man.

Still, the DS was all smiles "Getting a victory for Sacha and the jersey was the goal of the entire season and we managed. For stage 3 we kept things together over the hills and put Sacha in front for a clear win. In Stage 4... we knew that Komlen was the man to beat for the whole event. But he was just so strong. We chased all day, the guys did great work, but with no other help, we couldn't bring them back. My hat off to Komlen. At the end we kept the gap under twenty seconds and Sacha took the field. Overall, Sacha was the most consistent by a wide margin. He did so much training this season for the winds and even the TT. We're super proud to take our first jersey. It was a big goal and we pulled it together."

Planning is the key to success.

Thanks both! I really did build the season around this goal - multiple TFs just for this race, high DP across the race squad, etc. Fortunately it worked out.
